Yaguine & Fodé Study Project

The purpose of the Yaguine & Fodé project is to raise money in order to enable Guinean people to study in Europe.

Please read the Project update (March 2009)

The projects name pays homage to two Guinean boys, Yaguine and Fodé. In 1999 they froze to death in the landing gear of a Sabena Airbus. The boys, 14 and 15 years of age, were fleeing the misery in their own country. They wanted to study in Europe. On the road to paradise they died a horrible death.

Now there are other Guinean youths who want to make their dreams come true. With this project we want to help them reach their goal by raising money for their studies

View the movie: "DEAR EUROPE...."

When, in the summer of 1999, Yaguine and Fodé died in the landing gear of a Sabena airplane they were front page news for a few days. The world was touched by these two boys who were so eager to study in Europe. Ibrahim Diallo, now 28 years old (depicted below) was 19 at the time.

In the film "Dear Europe", he is our guide. He puts into words what Yaguine and Fodé would have said. Thanks to the Yaguine & Fodé Study Project Ibrahim is able to realize his dream: study in Europe. Hopefully other students will be able to follow in his footsteps.
